This work presents a novel strategy for optimizing probiotic therapy against intestinal bowel diseases. SiH nanosheets coated on the surface of probiotics help to resist an erosive environment in the acidic stomach and can be degraded in the intestine to generate hydrogen as well as expose the probiotic bacteria for colitis amelioration.
