Xie et al. (pp. 100960-1–100960-15) report a targeted radiopharmaceutical therapy strategy to treat mGluR1+ human tumors using a small molecule-based alpha-radiopharmaceutical 211At-AITM. A single injection of 211At-AITM results in long-lasting antitumor effects in various cancer types. The cover image depicts that 211At-AITM specifically binds and enters cancer cells to downregulate mGluR1 oncoprotein, induce DNA double-strand breaks, and trigger cell senescence with a reprogrammed senescence-associated secretory phenotype, which collectively promote cancer cell death.
