  • In this issue of Molecular Cell, Liu et al. (pp. 426–440) report the landscape of m6A and m6Am across human and mouse tissues and demonstrate strong tissue specificity for the methylome of brain tissues. The cover shows a metaphorical representation of the m6A and m6Am methylome based on a poem by the Tang dynasty poet Bai Juyi. Due to the different environments (temperature, altitude, etc.), the flowering time of the peach varies alongside the mountain. While the flowers have faded at the foot of the mountain, the peach trees on the mountainside are in full bloom. This peach blossom scenery represents the tissue-specific m6A and m6Am modifications, which are important epitranscriptomic marks in gene expression regulation.
